The Retreat/Farmstay
Relax in the tranquil landscaped surroundings at Haurata. Great for a family holiday, a romantic escape, ideal for yoga retreat, painting retreat, writers retreat, or the overseas traveller wanting to experience a New Zealand high country setting.
With no traffic noise, get used to the silence of the night and awakening to the sound of bird calls.
Unwind in our wonderful outdoor hot tub. Soak up the tranquil and unique environment as you destress in the natural gas-heated water. Enhance your experience by adding relaxing herbs and exotic flowers. Nothing feels better than getting back to nature.
The retreat/farmstay is sheltered from most winds and a haven for children to roam and play. Go for leisure walks, explore the river, find safe swimming holes for younger children and more challenging ones for grownups. Hurtle down rock slides, build huts, play in the trees and follow the tracks through the native bush. There is also room to accommodate your horse while on holiday or perhaps bring your mountain bike to burn off excess energy.
When we say 'pure water' we are not kidding, the former Haurata owner, Shakahn, had the water tested - the results showed it as being some of the most pure water in the world.
