The apartment has two areas – walk in through the main entrance and you are in the tiled sunroom that overlooks the main lawn. A sun trap with a couch for reading and chiling out.
Up the stairs and you’ve entered the main area. You’ll see the pacific theme in the decor and fresh, modern colours. Two large sofas allow you to sit and watch the setting sun. There’s a television, with a dvd player. The stereo has MP3 player direct input. You also have access to free wireless broadband internet.
The apartment is an open-plan style. The kitchen includes a full oven, a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and it’s fully equipped with crockery and cutlery plus oil, salt & pepper. Tucked around the corner, beside the bathroom, is the large Queen size bed – always with crisp, white 100% egyptian cotton sheets and pillowcases
By converting the downstairs sunroom, we can accommodate 1 couple and 2 singles, or 2 couples plus we have a portacot and bedding for babies. The curtains at the top of the stairs separate the sunroom from the main room.
Lemonade Farm was named after the Lemonade lemons in the citrus grove – they’re a lemon that is sweet and can be eaten like an orange. The Farm occupies 16 acres and extends from behind the house, across the road to the base of the hill on the other side. We have cattle, pigs, free range ducks and chickens. These provide the eggs for those choosing the B&B option. There are many beautiful native and exotic birds and you will be sure to see a least a few of them over a day. Outside your room you may see quails, fantails , the tui , the native woodpigeon – called kereru in maori , pheasants and finches among many. At night you can sometimes here the morepork – our native owl. In the evening or early morning you may spot the occasional rabbit, or hare.
All the surrounding properties are also farms – mainly sheep and cattle. Take a stroll down Roses road to get a real feeling of country life.
