We can help you with whatever you choose to do in the South Westland area. We are a booking facility for all activity operators in the region. From helicopter flights, to guided glacier walks, skydiving to just a quiet meander through the forest, the friendly staff at Montrose Backpackers have all the knowledge you need to have a great time while you are with us.

We have large communal facilities with big screen TV, FREE DVD/video hire, 24hr internet (free in Winter!), games, book exchange, covered BBQ area, FREE tea & coffee, and infrared sauna. Feel free to give us a call anytime for impartial advice.

Accommodation Buildings   
We have three accommodation buildings at Montrose Backpackers;

• The Main Building
• Mollies
• The Nunnery

The buildings are large with plenty of parking space around the back

Dorm Rooms - There are 20 dorm rooms ranging in size from the smallest 3 bedroom dorm up to the largest 10 bedroom dorm. All the dorms have linen available.

Double and Twin Rooms - The twin rooms and double rooms are very comfortable. Some of these rooms have en-suites, all include linen

Lounges - Both lounges are set up with comfortable furniture for you to relax in, watch tv or catch up with friends.

Kitchens - The kitchens are all modern with fridges and ovens. Crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment is all provided in each kitchen
