Ridge House offers luxury hosted accommodation for the discerning traveler, or those wanting an escape.

Designed by Pete Bossley, one of New Zealand’s foremost architects, Ridge House maximizes stunning 360 degree views, from rolling hills in the north and west to expansive ocean views in the east and south, including Young Nick’s Head, and Mahia Peninsula.

Set on 2.4 hectares, Ridge House has its own olive grove, producing Ridge House Extra Virgin Olive Oil; organic vegetable gardens, free range chickens, fruit trees, and bee hives. An ethical environmental philosophy and a commitment to sustainability ensures that Ridge House uses it own and local organic produce wherever possible.

Specifically redesigned to provide luxury boutique accommodation, Ridge House is a romantic retreat where privacy is assured, catering for no more than two couples at any one time.

Guest Rooms

A separate wing featuring two spacious and luxuriously appointed guest rooms, and guest library, ensures guest privacy. The rooms are furnished with contemporary, New Zealand décor and stunning New Zealand art work, and open to sun drenched patios and expansive views where you can sit back, unwind and relax.

Glen’s awesome coffees are a great way to start the day, along with a gourmet breakfast including Kim’s famous homemade muesli, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit salad, smoked salmon scrambled eggs, waffles or French omelettes - a selection from the extensive breakfast menu. Fresh organic produce grown on the property or locally sourced is used where possible.

Glen and Kim can recommend a number of Gisborne restaurants and cafes for an evening meal.
